I started a Twitter account about a year ago and until this week I've only tweeted once. (I know, I know, it's pitiful...) I've completely avoided Facebook and Twitter for the very reason I wanted to sign up in the first place...to keep in touch with people! I don't know... I feel like there's too much pressure to say something clever, funny, or really meaningful. I just never wanted to be that person that talks about what they ate for breakfast, or quotes Bible scriptures. Somehow my fear of sounding lame has turned me into a virtual anti-socialite. And that's the exact opposite of what I want. I really want to catch up with old friends and make some new ones in the process.

30 Before 30 It's hard to believe my 30th birthday is coming up really soon (October 18th, for those of you who care to start buying gifts early..hint, hint). I'm not trippin on some "I don't wanna be 30" or "I'm getting old" bullshit. I'm really grateful to have seen thirty years and I hope to see another thirty, and another. But there is one thing I'm bothered by...my lack of personal fulfillment. I just don't feel like I've accomplished the things that I've wanted to. I feel like my life has been leading me instead of me leading my life. Day in and day out it's the same routine and that's what's getting old, not me.
Life is short and I'm so ready to live...so I've compiled a list of thirty things to accomplish before I turn 30. It's my own personal bucket list, only without the I-have-to-do-this-before-I-die sentiment. There's nothing epic or life-changing...I don't know would you say starting a band is epic? Or posting a youtube video is life-changing? Who knows, maybe it's more of a self-indulgent to-do list? Whatever the case, I'll be sharing it as it happens. Stay tuned.

Travie McCoy's been making his rounds promoting his upcoming solo album Lazarus and a mixtape he's going to drop titled Forgetting Katy Perry. Damn that's dope...HE'S dope!!. I mean the fact that he can see the irony (oh the irony!! I mean c'mon son!! you can't make this shit up!) and take advantage of the opportunity is awesome. I'm sure he wasn't laughing back then but it speaks volumes about his character that he's not holding a grudge or giving off any negative vibes.

Last night's episode of Glee made me re-appreciate Madonna's Vogue. I love that song...even more so the 1990 VMA performance she rocked to that tune is absolutely classic (and in my opinion the best one to date). So naturally I turn to YouTube because someone else in the world has posted it for others to reminisce and enjoy, right? Well, I thought so until video after video I'm hit with this nonsense....every video posted WMG has disabled the audio...Fucking Warner bullshit.

Here's the deal...right now pop culture is thriving on all the wrong things. We're obsessed with drama. Cheating spouses, bottle popping, fight starting, luxury car driving, back stabbing, reality show having, cat flashing, party all the time celebrities rule society as we know it. It's getting to be too much. When you're living in the present, aware of how the mind works you try to avoid (or at least limit) anything that doesn't empower you. And for me that's where Lupe Fiasco comes in, like a breath of fresh air.
I love this kid...can't get enough of him. His thought provoking lyrics and flow are so dope. He's got so much creativity, substance, and style!

MyTunes Anchorman is hella funny and it's been on my mind all week. Whenever I need a good laugh, this movie always does the trick. I completely forgot about this scene with Jack Black...classic.
